A Not So Sticky Situation For Spring Gully Foods

Date: 27-11-2020

For over 70 years, Spring Gully Foods has continued to bring a wealth of history and tradition to the Australian food landscape. This fourth generation, South Australian family business was established by Edward ‘Ted’ McKee in 1946. On that day, Ted was asked by a close friend to make some pickled onions for their local corner store, Ted humbly said yes, and the rest as they say is history. Today, their pickled onions are still in production, along with other delicious pickled vegetables, condiments, honeys, jams, and sauces.

Their professional staff provide a great personalised service, are responsive, and helpful in finding solutions.

Producing an average of 300,000 jars a week and up to 10,000 cartons a day, limiting any down-time is critical, and when issues arise, time is of the essence. This occurred when Spring Gully Foods changed their board grade, it resulted in the glue not adhering to the high wax carton. Adelaide Packaging Supplies were quick to visit the site and come up with a remedy within a week. Their timeliness and commitment to a quick turn around was noted at all levels at Spring Gully Foods.

“Without Adelaide Packaging Supplies great service, we wouldn’t have been
able to dispatch products to places such as Coles, Woolworths,
Foodland, Drakes, Metcash and more…”
